honored at big reception.

Wedding Anniversary

Ira
Clifton Pigg and Josie Catherine Foraker-Pigg, of Edinburg
Texas, former Stonewall, Oklahoma residents, were honored by
their three sons and two daughters at an open house celebration
November 6th, 1960.
The celebration honored the veteran school executive and his
wife on the fiftieth wedding anniversary and was held in the
home of their daughter and on-in-low, Mr. and Mrs. Layman H.
Skinner of Edinburg.
Miss Josie Catherine
Foraker was married to Ira Clifton Pigg on November 6th, 1910 in
Magnum, Greer County, Oklahoma. Miss Foraker was born at
Rockwall, Texas and moved to Magnum with her parents in 1902,
where she continued to live until her marriage. The vows
were read by Rev. Charles Starkley.
Mr.
Pigg left Liberty, Kentucky at the age of four with his parents
and moved to Moody, Texas, moving to Martha, Oklahoma in 1900.
Mr. Pigg received his education in Oklahoma, and holds degrees
from colleges in Weatherford, Edmond, and Norman Oklahoma.
He taught in various school systems in Oklahoma for 20 years,
prior to moving to Edinburg in July of 1931.
