Arizona, though its scenery was fashioned by those might Titans, water, fire, wind, and earthquake, is nevertheless, a manmade state.  Its name is derived from Arizonac, in the languages of both the Papago and Pima Indians, meaning little spring.  It was called Arizona by the Spaniards as early as 1736, and must have been know to the Indians by their name of Arizonac for probably many years prior to that date.
