The Town of Burton, is located on U.S. Highway 290, eleven(11) miles West of Brenham, Texas, twenty-three(23) miles East of Giddings, Texas and ninety(90) miles west of Houston, Texas in western Washington County, it was originally established in 1862 and named for John M.
